Hair Colour Services

At Chalk, we believe colour pricing should be transparent and customized to each guest. That's why we charge for parts and labour separately.

We use a system called Vish, which measures the exact amount of colour and lightener used during your appointment. This means you're only paying for the product that is actually used on your hair, helping ensure you're charged fairly while allowing us to maintain the high-quality products we use behind the chair.

Because every head of hair is different, it can be difficult to provide an exact price before your appointment. If you'd like a personalized quote, please give us a call or send us a message. We're happy to provide a more detailed estimate based on your hair goals and the stylist you'd like to see.

Colour appointments are booked using our Basic, Extra, and So Extra system, which helps us reserve the appropriate amount of time for your service.

 

 

BASIC COLOUR

A Basic Colour Service is ideal for maintenance appointments and simple colour applications.

Depending on your stylist, these appointments are typically booked for 1.5–2.5 hours.

Common Basic Colour Services include:

  • Root touch-ups.
  • Toners, glosses, or glazes.
  • Fabuloso Pro custom colour refreshes.
  • A small foil application or face frame.
  • Quick maintenance between larger colour appointments.

Choose Basic if you're maintaining your current colour and don't require significant changes.

 

 

EXTRA COLOUR

An Extra Colour Service is the best fit for many guests and covers most standard colour appointments.

Depending on your stylist, these appointments are typically booked for 2–3.5 hours.

Common Extra Colour Services include:

  • Full head highlights.
  • Solid colour applications.
  • Regrowth and refresh appointments.
  • Dimensional colour services.
  • Refreshing your current look with moderate changes.

You're not looking for a dramatic transformation, but you're ready to give your colour some attention and leave feeling refreshed.

If you're unsure what to book, Extra is often the safest choice.

 

 

SO EXTRA COLOUR

A So Extra Colour Service is reserved for major transformations and appointments that require significant time and attention.

Depending on your stylist, these appointments are typically booked for 3–5+ hours.

Common So Extra Colour Services include:

  • Balayage and hair painting.
  • Major blonding transformations.
  • Fashion or vivid colours.
  • Colour corrections.
  • Significant changes in depth, tone, or overall colour.

These appointments involve detailed planning, extensive application techniques, and multiple steps to achieve your desired result.

If you're looking for a dramatic change, have very thick or long hair, or know you'll require a substantial amount of work, So Extra is likely the right fit for you.
